Hi,

I’m Howard

I want to help you improve your relationships with those you love and with yourself.

Discovering Authenticity

We all face difficult times in our lives which may lead us to seek help from others.

Psychotherapy helps you become more resilient, find your inner strength and improve your sense of self – all of which can aid you in your quest to live a more open, genuine, and fulfilling life. Together we examine areas of struggle and where you might be “stuck”. We can work to identify new ways to be more engaged and effective in relationships and to be more at peace with ourselves.

My Approach

I will work with you in treatment modalities ranging from short-term brief, CBT, EMDR, and problem-focused dynamic therapies to longer-term analytical work. My training has mostly been generalist, meaning that outside of my specialty of working with adults and providing affirmative psychotherapy to members of the LGBTQ community, I have experience treating a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am particularly helpful to those who struggle in building and sustaining authentic and healthy relationships.

Through working together I help you get in touch with those parts of yourself that you may have been ignoring. Together we’ll find fresh solutions to help you face your vulnerabilities and believe in yourself.

Making your “Blind Spots” Conscious

Although trained and experienced in standard evidence-based psychotherapy techniques, I am at heart a psychodynamic or depth therapist. Many of us can acknowledge difficulties in relationships and struggles with our own internal world but don’t know how to make the necessary changes needed to improve or change them. We all have blind spots that get in the way of our own healing. My goal as a psychotherapist is to help increase self-awareness through uncovering painful or traumatic events in your history and the maladaptive patterns that underlie your suffering. Understanding yourself and developing internal strengths to better manage your inner world will provide you with a greater sense of ease, confidence, and freedom that translates into inner peace and healthier relationships with others.

My role is to see your potential for growth, even if you are not able to at the moment.

I look forward to getting to know you.
